What’s On at the Rose Theatre During December 2018

Rose Theatre During December 2018

If you live in Kingston and are deciding what to do leading up to Christmas, then the Rose Theatre has plenty of options for the whole family. Of course getting around at this time of the year can be a real pain, so if you are going to visit the Rose then contact Elite Car Service who are your local Kingston cab company.

Here are some of the attractions that are coming to the Rose Theatre in December.

Hansel & Gretel

Dec 6th – Jan 6th

One of the greatest tales written by the Brothers Grimm surely has to be Hansel and Gretel. This production is a new festive adaptation of this famous fairy tale and is written for the stage by Ciaran McConville, and music and lyrics by Eamonn O’Dwyer.

Life is good in Freiburg, but that is not to say it is the same all over. The brother and sister meet a sweet old lady in a magical house and the fun all starts there.

Carols at the Rose

Dec 9th

Christmas would just not be Christmas without a rousing carol concert, and the Rose Theatre will be raising the roof on Sunday the 9th of December.

It will be a real family occasion with the choir of King’s Church leading the evenings singing in a free concert. Festive cheer will be in abundance along with great kid’s activities and seasonal treats.

The Christmas Crocodile

Dec 11th – Dec 15th

A great adventure for kids this Christmas is brought to the Rose Theatre by the people who brought us The Three Little Christmas Pigs and The Forgotten Christmas Elf.

The Christmas Crocodile is a story about Clara and her young family, and their crocodile! The story is just perfect for the little ones of your family, laid on with a splash of Christmas magic as a wooden crocodile comes to life.

Rose Christmas Celebration

Dec 18th

The Christmas festivities will be kicked off in style when the Rose Theatre present their Christmas Celebration.

The line-up scheduled this year is quite stunning: Singing It Back’s Harmonies For Heroines, Prima Voce Choirs, Soundbytes Choir, Quintessential, Kingston Singers and British Recorder Light Orchestra.

All the proceeds from the evening will go to the Rose Theatre’s diverse programme of cultural, drama and learning.

Goldilocks & The Three Polar Bears

Dec 29th

The old tale of Goldilocks and the Three Bears gets a re-vamp in this production. They are transported from the forest to an icy wonderland. The mischievous Goldilocks enjoys many chilly adventures with her new friends the Polar Bears, from skiing to penguin spotting.

While having so much fun she stumbles across a strange igloo full of treats, but who lives there? When the inhabitants come back the fun really starts.
